Josh Spalding

Josh Spalding is the Managing Director of Confluence Environmental, an environmental consultant, occupational hygienist and SafeWork NSW Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA001385). He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management, Certificate IV WHS and is an active member of ALGA. Josh’s experience spans project management, contaminated land, soil and groundwater investigations, asbestos management, acid sulfate soils and occupational hygiene across industrial, infrastructure and development projects.

Selected project highlights include:

  • Uungula Wind Farm (Project Value: +$3 Billion): Asbestos consulting services and project management for Australia’s largest windfarm on behalf of Nacap, a leading energy infrastructure contractor. Josh prepared the PSI, SAQP and DSI with endorsement by a CEnvP-SC for an approximately 10ha site. Josh designed and lead all fieldworks over the course of 2 months, which involved the collection of over 1,300 samples and a team of 7 environmental scientists with additional plant operators and asbestos removal contractors. All works and reporting were overseen and endorsed by an Independent NSW EPA Site Auditor with additional Third-Party Review.

  • Woy Woy Storage Park (Project Value: +$2 Million): Hazardous Material Survey, PSI, SAQP and DSI for a 5ha former abattoir site. Assessment of UPSS infrastructure, soil, surface water, groundwater and soil vapour.

  • St Vincent De Paul Society NSW (Project Value: +$50,000): Asbestos Surveys, Registers and Management Plans for over 40 commercial properties across the Hunter Valley, Mid-Coast, Northern Tablelands and Northern Rivers of NSW.

  • Planning Proposal - Central Coast NSW: Acid Sulfate Soil Investigation and Preliminary Site Investigation for a Planning Proposal for rezoning and development of approximately 250 lots in Lake Munmorah NSW. Reporting overseen by a CPSS-CSAM and RSP-ASS.

  • Arundel Street & Parramatta Rd, Forest Lodge (Project value: $15,000): Hazardous Material Survey and Register of a University of Sydney asset for a Purpose Built Student Accommodation.

Managing Director and Environmental Scientist

Dimce Stojanovski

Dimce brings 15 years of environmental and geotechnical consulting experience to Confluence Environmental. An ALGA member, University of Newcastle graduate and Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP), he combines extensive field experience with the management of complex contaminated land investigations and remediation projects.

His experience covers the full assessment and remediation process: preliminary and detailed site investigations, remediation action plans, remediation supervision, validation and ongoing environmental management. He has delivered soil, surface water and groundwater investigations across industrial facilities, former landfills, mining land and major construction projects, working closely with NSW EPA-accredited site auditors.

Selected career highlights include:

  • Port of Newcastle: Coordinating consultants, managing staff, monitoring environmental compliance and supporting environment protection licence reporting and NSW EPA liaison.

  • The Beaches, Catherine Hill Bay: Project management of environmental investigations and remediation support across a multi-stage residential development on former colliery land. Work included PSIs, DSIs, remediation action plans, validation, water monitoring and material classification under NSW EPA Independent Site Auditor oversight.

  • Northern Precinct, Swansea: Delivery of detailed site investigation and remediation planning for proposed residential and commercial development on former landfill and filled land, working with a NSW EPA Independent Site Auditor .

  • Wallsair, Maryland: Contributions to investigation, remediation planning, validation and environmental management for proposed aircraft hangars on asbestos-impacted land, including supervision of remediation works.

Dimce also brings substantial geotechnical investigation experience, including drilling supervision, soil and rock logging, subsurface profiling, site classification and pavement investigations. He supports the development of our junior consultants and is working towards CEnvP Site Contamination specialist certification.

Isabella Wills

Isabella keeps the day-to-day operations at Confluence Environmental running smoothly. Often the first person you’ll speak with, she handles enquiries, organises project bookings and works with our consultants to coordinate site visits and keep clients informed.

Behind the scenes, Isabella looks after our vehicle fleet and the administration of our ISO-certified management systems. She keeps our team organised and supported, helping projects run smoothly from the first phone call through to completion.
Junior Environmental Scientist

Tahlia Campbell

Tahlia is a member of ALGA, a University of Newcastle Bachelor of Science graduate with a keen interest in soil science, contaminated land, mould and toxicology. She supports our projects through fieldwork, mould and moisture assessments, waste classifications and preliminary site investigations.

Through Confluence, Tahlia has completed CPCCDE5001 training in asbestos air monitoring and clearance inspections and is currently studying NAT11429003 in comprehensive mould and moisture assessment. She is building her career in contaminated land while working towards becoming an Indoor Environmental Professional.

Cadet Environmental Scientist

Jack Padovan

Jack is a member of ALGA, a third-year Bachelor of Science student at the University of Newcastle, working towards graduation in 2026. He enjoys hands-on fieldwork and working alongside construction teams, with a particular interest in contaminated land and asbestos assessment.

Jack supports preliminary site investigations, commercial and industrial asbestos surveys, assessments of fire-affected properties and asbestos-contaminated soils, removal supervision and clearance inspections. His field experience also includes occupational hygiene monitoring, including respirable crystalline silica assessments.

He has completed CPCCDE5001 training in asbestos air monitoring and clearance inspections and is working towards obtaining his SafeWork NSW Asbestos Assessor Licence.
